What primary (Heat Network) conditions are the AquaHeat HIUs suitable for operating at?
At Baxi, our AquaHeat range of heat interface units (HIUs) are suitable to operate within a primary temperature range from 55°C to 90°C, making them a viable option for different types of buildings.

The temperature range for the AquaHeat Heat Interface Unit
Our AquaHeat HIU provides space heating from between 15 and 85 degrees Celsius (°C), with domestic hot water (DHW) temperatures ranging from 40 to 65 °C. The actual temperature that will be set is dependent on the supply temperature that comes from the heat network supplying the building.
The unit is able to deliver a range of heating outputs from between 4 to 60 kilowatts (kW) and DHW outputs between 18kW and 57kW.
The right heat network conditions for the Baxi AquaHeat range
Baxi AquaHeat HIUs are able to operate in temperatures supplied by the heat network of up to 90°C and maximum pressure of 16bar.
Choosing the right settings for your building
A general setting for comfortable room temperature is between 18 and 21°C, though it’s worth noting that the HIU’s flow temperature – the temperature of the water carrying heat from the central network – ranges from between 25°C where underfloor heating is used and up to 75°C for supplying radiators.
Your HIU has internal sensors to prevent the pressure in the system from reaching dangerous levels.
