Four things you need to know about heat only boilers - Baxi Blog

We're All 'Four' Heat Only Boilers

Known as regular, traditional, open vent or conventional boilers, heat only boilers have a host of benefits that make them the ideal solution to many household heating conundrums.

In this article, we’ll look at the four things you need to know about heat only boilers. Let’s start by going back to basics and look at why heat only boilers can often be a cost-effective swap for customers.

An efficient upgrade

Heat only boilers are often a financially efficient swap for customer’s existing heating and hot water systems. This is because with heat only systems, the expansion vessel and pump are separately located in the airing cupboard. So, on many occasions, you can swap the boiler without necessarily having to replace other (costly) expensive parts in the system.

Another win for both you and your customers is the fact that heat only boilers are compatible with sealed or open vent systems. This is again, cost-effective if your customer isn’t yet ready to upgrade their old feed and expansion tank in their loft – or indeed if they want to keep their cylinder to make upgrading to a heat pump that bit easier down the line. It also saves you the time of having to do a complete refit on a heating system – allowing you to fit in more jobs.

Easy to install

Who doesn’t love an easy installation? With no pump overrun or permanent live required on heat only boilers, installers don’t have to run a wire from the boiler back to the pump. This is a major time saver and removes the need to trail wires under floorboards (forget moving heavy furniture!) back to the boiler from the airing cupboard, where the pump is situated.

Our heat only boilers can also be fitted with rear flues which are perfect for compact spaces.

Sshh! Heat only boiler in operation

A big plus to make your customers aware of when it comes to heat only boilers is that they’re super quiet when operating. Many heat only boilers are situated in a kitchen cupboard, but the low noise level means they won’t disturb anyone in the surrounding living areas.

This makes the boiler perfect for customers who work from home or families with little ones who look forward to the little peace and quiet they can get!

New Baxi Heat Only Boilers

On the back of the success of the recent Baxi 400 Combi 2.1 range, more installers were buying into the 400 range. As a result, we felt that a more complete heat only range would best complement the existing offering and so we introduced the Baxi 430 Heat.

You’ve also been asking us for a 19KW model in the 800 heat only series. So that’s what we’ve done. The new Baxi 819 Heat saves you dropping down to a 7-year warranty with the Baxi 619 or over specifying with something too big, such as a 25KW option. Take a look at them both below or view our full range here
