Ian Trott - Baxi Trainer

Ian Trott

Ian joined the industry in 1988 as an apprentice with British Gas. Once qualified he worked as a Service Engineer covering installations, breakdowns, servicing and gas emergency call outs. He left British Gas in 1999 to join a small contractor specialising in breakdown and combi repairs. Ian joined Baxi in 2003 as a Service Engineer and became a supervisor in 2009, before moving into the training team in 2015 and becoming the Training Manager in 2022.

Steve Boyle - Baxi Trainer

Steve Boyle

Steve has over 10 years experience in the industry. He started his career in 2013 as an apprentice in domestic gas and heating. He joined Baxi in 2017 as a service and repair engineer before joining the training team in July 2023. Steve is based in the Dartford training centre.

Steve Simphson - Baxi Trainer

Steve Simpson

Steve started his career as an apprentice with British Gas in 1999 before becoming a technical Engineer with them for 5 years. He continued to develop his career and expertise within the industry working for a manufacturer as a service engineer before rejoining British Gas as a technical engineer. In 2021 Steve joined Baxi as a Baxi Customer Support Engineer before moving to the training team in 2022. Steve is based in the Dartford training centre.

Robert Evans - Baxi Trainer

Robert Evans

Robert began work as an apprentice with British Steel in 1985 before joining the Armed Forces where he specialised in communication and digital applications. Using his engineering skills he re-trained as a domestic gas engineer in 2007. He was then employed as a service and breakdown engineer with a large housing association in the North West. Robert joined Baxi in 2011 as a Service Engineer, before moving into the training department as a Training Officer in 2015.

Andrew Gregory - Baxi Trainer

Andrew Gregory

Andy started his career as an apprentice Plumber with DMBC in 1987 where in his first year at college he was awarded “Plumber of the Year”. He initially specialised in plumbing and heating before becoming a gas service and repair engineer and latterly a gas quality control supervisor. In 2001 Andy used his knowledge in the field to effectively undertake his role as a underfloor heating and Hep20 technical advisor for Hepworth Plumbing products. Drawing upon his extensive experience in 2003 Andy set up and successfully ran his own plumbing and heating business for 9 years. Andy joined Baxi in 2012 as a Heating Engineer, before moving into the training department as a Training Officer in 2021. Andy is based at the Warrington training centre.

Rachel Griffiths - Baxi Trainer

Rachel Griffiths

Rachel started her career as an apprentice in 2013 with a small independent company. As a plumbing, heating and gas engineer and later a service and maintenance engineer and property developer, Rachel was keen to use her experience to support installers creating content to aid them through social media. Drawing upon her extensive product knowledge as a Baxi Approved Installer for 10 years Rachel joined Baxi and the training team in 2023. Rachel is based in the Warrington training centre.

Justin Rothwell - Baxi Trainer

Justin Rothwell

Justin started his career in the Armed Forces before becoming an apprentice and training as a plumbing and heating engineer working for a local authority. He set up his own company in 2006 and drew upon his skills and expertise to initially work part time teaching in 2009 at a college before transitioning in 2012 full-time teaching and assessing plumbing and gas students. In 2015 Justin became a service and repair engineer working for British Gas before joining Baxi as a Baxi customer support engineer in 2022. Justin joined the training department in 2023 and is based at the Warrington training centre.

Rob Pearson - Baxi Trainer

Rob Pearson

Rob started his career as an apprentice engineer working for British Gas in 2003. In 2008 he became a Service and Repair Engineer for a large independent contractor. During this time he was selected to mentor the apprentices, which is when he realised his passion for sharing knowledge. Rob joined Baxi’s technical support team in 2016 using his fault finding knowledge to assist engineers to diagnose faults before transitioning his role to become a Baxi Customer Support Engineer. In 2019 Rob was able to focus upon his passion of sharing knowledge and developing an individuals skills when he joined the training team. A dedicated trainer Rob believes that there is always something to be learnt in this industry, especially as we move towards providing different solutions to heating homes. Rob is based at the Warwick training centre.

Darren Smith - Baxi Trainer

Darren Smith

Darren joined the industry in 1985 working at Valor Heating for around 24 years. During this time he undertook a range of roles to develop his skills and knowledge within manufacturing and the industry including Quality Engineer, Production Planner, Team Leader and Manufacturing Manager. In 2009 Darren joined Baxi and retrained as a Service Engineer, before moving to the training department in 2022.
Martin Walton - Baxi Trainer

Martin Walton

Martin started his career as an apprentice in 1988 before working as a commercial engineer. He initially worked overseas before returning to the UK undertaking a range of Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning roles for residential and commercial companies. In 2005 Martin established his own commercial and residential heating business before joining Baxi in 2009 as a service and repair engineer. In 2013 he moved to France working in commercial HVAC and renewables. Martin returned to the UK in 2018 re-joining Baxi as a service and repair engineer, and later as a heat pump engineer before moving to the training department in 2021. Martin is based at the Warwick Training centre.
