The need for heat pumps and what it means for you

Heat pumps are becoming a more regular part of domestic heating work. This is being driven by low carbon targets, government incentives, and growing interest in alternative heating systems. So what does that mean for you?

Put simply, demand is increasing for installers with the right skills to design and deliver these systems. In a changing market, having access to the right training and support can help you to build your confidence, grow your offering and stand out from the crowd.

Our training courses are designed to support you at every stage working with heat pumps. From introductory courses for those new to the technology, to our Baxi Heat Pump Installer Course for experienced installers looking to expand their skills, through to accredited pathways for individuals looking to formalise and build on their expertise, there’s a route to suit every level of experience.

Your customers will likely want to apply for certain grants to help them with the cost of an air source heat pump installation. Grants such as the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS), which allows eligible homes to access a grant of up to £7500, will require you to be MCS-registered or be operating under an MCS Umbrella Scheme like ours.

There is also a temporary rural uplift effective from 21st July 2026 until March 2027, of £1500 that applies to properties replacing existing LPG or oil heating.

Carrying out projects through the Baxi MCS Umbrella Scheme demonstrates a commitment to quality. Your customers can take advantage of grants and incentives whilst also having confidence that your work is carried out to MCS standards. Using our MCS Umbrella Scheme lets you start offering certified ASHP installations faster than gaining independent accreditation.
