Air Source Heat Pumps

Can an air source heat pump be wrapped?

Wrapping an air source heat pump blends it in with the natural aesthetics of your property and could provide additional protection.

There are, however, some important conditions that have to be met in order to maintain performance, safety and warranty:

  • Disassembly and assembly must be carried out by qualified persons
  • Wrapping must not restrict access to safety component or any kind of maintenance
  • Moving parts must not be obstructed
  • Air flow must not be obstructed
  • Logo, labels, identification plates, serial plates on the products must not be hidden
  • No stickers or wrapping on electrical wirings or harnesses
  • Wrapping on electronics or electrical boxes or containers is not allowed
  • No stickers or wrapping on acoustic foam, sealants, or any kind of insulation
  • No stickers or wrapping on the fan’s grid
  • Refrigerant module must not be covered
  • Disassembly and re-assembly mustn’t be done with additional drilling, cutting, bending, welding, sanding of any elements
  • Re-assembly with other screws or fixing elements than original ones is not allowed
  • Wrapping may be not compatible with the original painting and may cause degradation
  • Baxi cannot be held responsible for any faults caused by wrap
  • An inspection done during the commissioning by a Baxi engineer or a Baxi Heat Pump Installer, will reassure you that the company who provided the wrapping service followed the requirements in order to keep the enhanced warranty active

If your plan is to wrap the product as part of the initial installation, once this is complete, a commissioning visit by one of our team will ensure that these requirements have been fulfilled and that your warranty remains valid.
