The boiler is the master when the control is fitted via OpenTherm on Baxi Combi 2 boilers

The control is the master when fitted via OpenTherm on the following combi boilers: Main Eco Compact, Baxi Platinum Compact & Duo-tec Compact.

The boiler is the master when the control is fitted via 230V.

This function is possible if the control is fitted via OpenTherm, but not if the control is fitted via 230V.

On Baxi Combi 2, when fitted on OpenTherm, it is strongly recommended to adjust the Central Heating and Domestic Hot Water temperatures on the boiler only.

On Main Eco Compact, Baxi Platinum Compact & Duo-tec Compact combi ranges, temperature settings are recommended to be adjusted on the control when fitted on OpenTherm.

When the control is fitted via 230V on all combi ranges, it is recommended that temperature settings are adjusted via the boiler.

When connected via OpenTherm, the following settings can be viewed through a password-controlled imenu on the control.

• tSEt - Primary water temperature;
• tFLO - Boiler flow temperature
• trEt -Boiler return temperature
• nOdU -Modulation %
• PrES - Water pressure
• tFLU - Flue temperature

Yes, the receiver fits an industry standard 6 Pin backplate. Note that the backplate is not provided; the receiver is simply compatible with a UK industry standard 6 pin backplate. The installer would either use one that was on the old control installation or need to source a new one.

The way the heating curve for IFOS is set depends on the type of boiler the control is fitted to.

When the control is fitted on OpenTherm for a Combi 2 boiler, the curve is set via the boiler itself. The curve is also set through the Combi 2 boiler when the control is fitted on 230V.

When the control is fitted on OpenTherm on Main Eco Compact, Baxi Platinum Compact & Duo-tec Compact boilers, the IFOS heating curve is set through the control.
