Future of Home Heating

Why is the government banning natural gas

Why is the government banning natural gas?

In order for the UK to meet the government’s target of net zero emissions by 2050, the way we heat our homes will have to change.  The Government is planning to prevent the use of natural gas for heating new build homes in an effort to reduce carbon emissions. Low to no carbon alternatives, such as hydrogen boilers, are still being trialled and may become a viable alternative in the future, but heat pump technology is already available and proven and new build homes can be designed and built to use heat pumps as a low carbon, energy efficient and effective heating system.
