If a Baxi boiler develops a problem, the boiler will display an error code to help you identify the issue. The most common of these error codes are explained below.

If the boiler you're working on is displaying an error code which isn't described below, please contact Baxi Customer Support who will be happy to help.

Instructions on how to rectify these error codes can be found on baxiworks.co.uk in the Resources section. Please note, this information is intended for Gas Safe registered installers and heating engineers only.

If you are a homeowner and you require help with an error code, please see our consumer error codes page as some error codes can be fixed without the need for an engineer. If your error code is not listed on the consumer error codes page, use our Find an Installer tool to get in touch with a local Gas Safe registered installer who will be able to help you.

Log on to Baxi Works to find recommended actions to these faults.

All fault codes are shown as E with numbers(s) following.

If the code does not have an E prefix it is not a fault, it is an operating status code, boiler on/off or temperature etc. In these cases the user guide should be consulted.

Fault codes on these boilers are shown as alternative flashing E or E1 and then two other numbers.

If the code has an A prefix this is a PCB programming code and should not be seen; this is usually due to a power supply fluctuation and resetting the boiler should clear it.

If the code is 0 or another number without a letter prefix, these are normal operating status codes. See user guide.

Fault codes on Baxi Avanta products are shown as E with following number(s).

If the code does not have an E prefix it is probably a normal operating code either temperature or boiler off etc;in these cases the user should consult the user guide. In all cases the user should try to reset the boiler first. Power cuts etc. can affect the boiler.
