Claiming the Feed-in Tariff for the Baxi Ecogen dual energy system

The easiest way to find a local MCS certificated installer to carry out your Baxi Ecogen installation is to use our Find an Installer search. Alternatively you can visit the MCS website to search for an installer in your area.

The Baxi Ecogen dual energy system is MCS certificated, making it eligible for the Feed-in Tariff. For more general information on the Baxi Ecogen dual energy system visit the Baxi Ecogen page.

The MCS Certificate verifies the installation of your microgeneration system and confirms its eligibility for the Feed-in Tariff scheme; it needs to be presented to your chosen FiT supplier (see step 4) so that they can complete the registration process.

You should receive the MCS Certificate from the installer within two weeks from installation; if you do not, contact them and request it.

Once you have obtained your MCS Certificate you can then apply for your FiT from your chosen electricity provider. There is a wide choice of electricity providers who offer FiT schemes. You can either contact your existing electricity provider to discuss the process for claiming your FiT from them or click here for details of other FiT providers.

You will need to provide a copy of the MCS Certificate to the electricity provider. You will also need to have an approved generator meter, which will have been fitted by the installer as part of your Baxi Ecogen installation.

Once your electricity provider has processed your application you will begin to receive FiT payments. These will be paid quarterly in arrears and will appear on your electricity bill. This will include details of credit for any electricity exported.
