Baxi Ecogen will cost more than a conventional boiler, but it will save you so much in the long run. The electricity the unit generates while it is producing heat could represent a saving of between £200 and £400 per annum, depending on the heat demand in the home.
Electricity that is generated but not used may be sold back to the grid and show as a credit on your electricity bill.
The best money saving comes from actually using the electricity you generate, reducing the need to draw electricity from the grid.
When in use the Ecogen will produce 1kW of electricity. This is more than enough to power the average three bedroom semi whose usage will be around 800w per hour. Any surplus generated can be sold back to the grid.
