Baxi's Pedigree

History

Baxi's history can be traced right back to 1866, when Richard Baxendale formed a partnership with Joseph Heald as 'Railway Carriage and Wagon Builders, and Machine Makers', in Chorley, Lancashire.  Baxi is still a major employer in the Preston area.

The company has always been at the forefront of innovation.  In 1966 the Baxi Bermuda was launched; the revolutionary new heating product took the market by storm - it was a conventional living-room fire, with a back boiler small enough to fit the average hearth.  It had an output sufficient to heat several radiators, and was carefully designed to suit the average home of the day.

Today

Today, Baxi boasts an industry leading range of high efficiency gas boilers, including the award winning Baxi Duo-tec Combi 28 HE, and has a portfolio of low carbon products, including solar, heat pumps and biomass.

The Baxi DACHS mini-CHP unit is one of the best selling CHP products in Europe.  It uses an internal combustion engine to generate electricity and heat for larger buildings such as hotels, schools and apartments.

And Baxi is already working on fuel cell technology, which uses hydrogen and oxygen as a basic fuel source to produce heat and electrical energy, for use in our homes in the future.
