Who is the course aimed at?

Experienced domestic heating installers and plumbers wishing to extend their work scope and gain an entry level qualification in solar water heating.

What is covered?

The course and assessment covers the most common domestic solar hot water systems installed in the UK.

• Fully filled sealed systems
• Drain back systems
• Flat plate collectors
• Evacuated tube collectors

The course is not intended to cover roof work in detail but does cover associated legislation, risk assessments and working at height requirements.

Suggested prior knowledge or understanding

Candidates must hold:

• a G3 Unvented Hot Water Systems certificate
• a recognised qualification in a conventional fuel (CORGI, OFTEC, HETAS) or an NVQ 2 or equivalent plumbing qualification.
