In order to qualify for a £400 Boiler Scrappage Scheme grant, you'll need to meet certain criteria.
First and foremost, your existing boiler must be rated SEDBUK Band G (or worse).
To help you find out if your boiler is rated Band G, we've put together a comprehensive list of Band G models. If your boiler is on the list, then check to see that you also meet the following criteria:
- You must be the homeowner or a private tenant
- The boiler must still be functioning* (or coming to the end of its life) and must be the main boiler used to heat the home.
- The boiler must be installed in England, however a similar scheme will be introduced in Scotland in the Spring, and the Welsh Assembly has announced its own scheme for the over-60s starting April 1.
If you and your boiler fit the bill, see our information on how to claim your £400 voucher. Remember, the grants are available to 125,000 homeowners on a first come, first served basis.
*If you are a householder (or tenant) over 60 years of age, you are eligible for the scheme regardless of whether the boiler is still functioning. Other criterion still applies.
