What does a warranty cover?
When you are choosing a new boiler for your home, a long warranty from an established boiler manufacturer, is an attractive proposition. It shows the manufacturer has confidence in their product and gives you the peace of mind that if things ever go wrong, you won't be picking up the bill.
Some warranties can lull you into a false sense of security though, so it's a good idea to check the terms and conditions before you buy.
Length of warranty
Baxi's boiler warranties are among the longest available on the market (the Baxi Platinum Combi HE A comes with a 10 year warranty - our longest ever) and they are absolutely free, with no hidden extras to pay.
Parts and labour
Always look for a boiler warranty that covers you both for parts and for labour. Often you'll find that a warranty only covers one or the other, or that full cover isn't provided for the whole duration of the warranty.
With Baxi, both aspects are covered for the full length of the warranty. So in the unlikely event that your boiler needs new parts fitted during the warranty period, we'll cover the cost of the hardware and the installer that fits them.
Most boiler warranties, including Baxi's, require that your appliance is fitted by a Gas Safe registered engineer, and is registered within 30 days of installation.
It is also usual that you are required to have your appliance serviced once a year, by a qualified, Gas Safe registered professional.
Watch out for manufacturers who stipulate that only their own engineers can service and repair your boiler.
If your part of the UK is not particularly well-supported by that supplier, you could find yourself waiting to have a boiler fixed or serviced. And even when you're not paying for it, you should still expect a high level of service.
Baxi's warranties are backed by our dedicated, award-winning customer support team, including a nationwide network of qualified heating engineers.
