How do system boilers work?
If you live in a home with more than one bathroom, or require more hot water than can be provided by a combi boiler, then a system boiler could be your perfect heating and hot water solution.
A system boiler pumps hot water to the radiators and a to a sealed hot water storage cylinder, such as the Megaflo eco cylinder which provides plenty of hot water whenever it is needed. Most of the major components of the heating and hot water system, including the pump and expansion vessel, are built into the boiler, making installation simpler, tidier and more efficient, and also makes servicing easier.
Most system boilers are installed onto an unvented high pressure system. This eliminates the need for a feed and expansion cistern in the loft because the combination of boiler and cylinder means you can run more than one tap at the same time, without a loss of pressure.
The Baxi Megaflo System HE, Baxi EcoBlue System, Baxi Megaflo System Compact GA and Baxi Avanta System Plus are highly efficient, with a SEDBUK 2005 >90% efficiency. This means lower fuel bills and a reduction in your carbon footprint when replacing an old, standard efficiency model.
If you want to future-proof your heating system, use free energy from the sun and reduce the amount it costs to heat your water, system boilers are compatible with solar thermal domestic hot water systems, like Baxi Solarflo and the Megaflo eco solar cylinder.
