Baxi is hero to zero carbon homes
An award winning luxury housebuilder has put Baxi at the heart of its mission to cut energy costs and eliminate carbon, after installing heat saver systems at two of its 'zero carbon' sites.
Heritage Homes, which is based in the South West, has commissioned Baxi's Megaflo System, Duo-tec Combi GA and Duo-tec HE A boilers at a number of properties at its flagship sites St Aubyn's Rise in Tiverton, and Holland Park in Exeter.
The heat saver system features a gas saver that sits between the boiler and the flue, recycling the heat from the flue gases - heat which would normally be expelled into the atmosphere and wasted.
It has been shown to reduce the gas used to heat hot water by up to 50 per cent each year*.
Designing each of its properties to conserve and minimise energy use, Heritage Homes include features such as extra-thick insulation, underfloor heating and low energy triple glazed windows as standard.
Guy Olliver, commercial and technical manager at Heritage Homes, said: "We didn't feel like we were getting the technical feedback and support that we needed from our previous supplier.
"Baxi is at the forefront of technology and product availability, and offers good quality warranties which we can pass on to our clients.
"The team has been extremely helpful, and has provided us with help along the way to fulfil our requirements.
"Together with solar PV panels, the gas saver system means that our homeowners can look forward to virtually cost-free energy during the day, with an energy efficient gas alternative in the evening.
"Even then, because the solar power is eligible for the Feed-in Tariff (FIT), the pay back will usually outweigh the cost of the gas boiler.”
Holland Park has been named National Award Winning Development of the Year (11-50 units) in The Bricks LABC Warranty Awards 2014, Residential Project of the Year 2015 (40 units and under) in the Michelmores Property Awards, and the Best High Volume New Housing Development at the Building Excellence awards.
Alan Turner, business development manager at Baxi, said: "It's a pleasure to work with a developer like Heritage Homes.
"With some of the best SAP ratings available, their properties offer the discerning housebuyer the freedom of living carbon free.
"We understand that developers like Heritage place the highest importance on quality and reliability and are proud that our boilers can help to make that commitment a reality.
"As part of our service we specify on a site-by-site basis, helping with the drawings and planning out a service package to suit.
"We've recently started work on another of Heritage's sites and look forward to supplying this well respected housebuilder for years to come.”
