Renewables is the generic term for technologies that use natural resources, such as heat from the sun or biomass to provide domestic hot water and heating. Grants are often available for installing renewable energy systems.
Using the free energy from the sun Baxi's solar thermal range, Baxi SolarfloTM, is the result of many years' research and development by Baxi.
Air source heat pumps work on the same basic principles as a refrigerator (but in reverse), taking heat from the air and converting it into usable heat for the home.
By tapping into the natural heat found just a few metres below the Earth's surface, ground source heat pumps use this stable, consistent energy to provide domestic underfloor heating.
Baxi's range of Biomass boilers burn naturally based biomass fuels such as wood pellets and even grain or corn. They can extract sufficient energy from these fuels to provide efficient heating and hot water via a storage cylinder. Combined heat and power (CHP) or cogeneration, is the process of generating both electrical power and useful heat from a single source of fuel. Large scale CHP, suitable for commercial applications, has been around for some time. Micro-CHP suitable for use in the home is a relatively new development.
