Baxi Ambiflo air source heat pumps are launched at H&V09

Baxi launched its new range of air source heat pump system packs at H&V09. Baxi Ambiflo is perfect for well insulated properties with underfloor heating or low temperature radiator systems, especially in areas with no mains gas supply. 

Under typical conditions it will operate at efficiencies between 200 and 400 per cent.  This means that for every kW of electrical energy input, it will provide between 2kW and 4kW of heat energy output.   It can offer substantial carbon savings compared to other heating sources, such as electric storage heaters and oil boilers. 

Baxi Ambiflo is available in three outputs: 7.5kW, 9.0kW and 10.5kW.  Each model is supplied as part of a system pack that has been designed to provide optimum comfort and efficiency.  The packs includes all the necessary components to control and link to a standard heating circuit, including the heat pump, an auxiliary 5kW electric heater, a programmable room thermostat, and outdoor sensor and flexible connection hoses.

A buffer vessel is available for low to medium volume systems.  The additional volume reduces cycling which enhances efficiency.  A heater pack is available for heating circuits with large system volumes.

The Baxi Ambiflo is sited outside, and includes room and outdoor temperature compensation to optimize flow and return temperatures.  The system intelligently controls any operation of the auxiliary electric heater, if it becomes necessary during extremely low outdoor temperatures.  Defrost is achieved efficiently by a reverse cycle of the refrigeration circuit.

For most newbuild houses, using the Baxi Ambiflo for central heating can help to achieve Code for Sustainable Homes level 3.  When used in conjunction Baxi Solarflo for hot water, a level 4 can be achieved.
