Our Baxi Duo-tec Combi HE A has been awarded a Best Buy from Which.
The search is on for Britain's oldest boiler!
Heating and hot water specialist Baxi is appealing to people to come clean about the age of their boiler and in return, you could find yourself the proud new owner of a best-in-class highly efficient new Baxi Duo-tec Combi 28 HE*.
The firm's nationwide search for the oldest working boiler comes on the back of a recent Baxi survey that found 68 per cent of people have a boiler that is ten years old or more, with three per cent having no idea how old their boiler actually was.
Lee Robinson, Baxi's customer service director, says that although your old boiler may now be seen as one of the family, it may not be doing quite such a good job for you now as it did 10 years ago: "Older boilers may convert as little as 60 per cent of the gas they use into useful heat, meaning higher fuel bills and more greenhouse gases.
"A new condensing boiler could cut these householders' gas bills by nearly 40 per cent or £150 per year for a typical semi-detached house."
Baxi, manufacturer of the Duo-tec Combi 28 HE, which achieved the top score of 34 boilers tested in a recent Which? report would like to hear from you if you think you have the oldest boiler. Simply email boiler@baxi.co.uk with your name, full address and phone number, together with the age of your boiler.
The closing date for entries is Monday 28 July 2008.
Please Note:
* Baxi will supply and deliver to the winner a new Baxi Duo-tec Combi 28 boiler that will come with a standard 2-year warranty and subject to Baxi's normal warranty conditions.
Baxi will not be responsible for the installation of the boiler, which must be carried out by a qualified registered Corgi installer to ensure the safety of the boiler and warranty protection.
Which? rated Baxi's Duo-tec Combi 28 HE with five stars for efficiency, NOX emissions, ease of installation and features. It scored 77 per cent in their test. It has a measured SEDBUK rating of 90.6 per cent, achieving the top score in the Which? test. Only three of the 34 boilers tested reached over 90 per cent.
It's important to register a boilers warranty so we can keep any disruption to a minimum.
