Record breaker heats up with Baxi

Dave Coates with Baxi's Paul TrottmanHe may be a world recorder holder, but even Dave Coates got too cold in his workshop to work on his motorbikes at night.  And frosty fingers didn't help him do the fine tuning needed to keep his machines in peak condition.

So Baxi came to the rescue with its own award winner - the Baxi Duo-tec Combi 28 HE, awarded Best Buy by consumer magazine Which?  A builder by day, Dave can now spend his evenings in his warm workshop working on the bikes he rides at weekends, performing stunt shows for motorbike fans across the UK and Europe.

Dave holds the world record for riding backwards, 151.7 mph, and with a pillion (his wife Sandra) also facing backwards, 138.2 mph.

Baxi Area Sales Manager Paul Trotman caught up with Dave and his new bike in Darlington to hand over the new boiler.  "I am very grateful to Baxi," said Dave.  "My bikes need to be kept in tip top condition for me to perform my show.  I can now work at night without gloves and several layers of clothes."

In the Which? boiler report, the Baxi Duo-tec Combi 28 HE achieved 5-star ratings for efficiency, low NOx emissions (Nitrogen Oxide), features and installing.
